Acknowledgement & Farewell to
Prof. Ziegler by the DGGT

As part of the gala evening celebrating the 75th anniversary of the DGGT, the event not only reflected on the society’s rich history but also honored Prof. Ziegler for his many years of leadership of the specialist section Plastics in Geotechnics and for his service as a member of the DGGT Executive Board. Prof. Ziegler had held the position of section head since 2006 and will step down at the end of the current election period in late 2025. He also served on the DGGT Executive Board throughout this entire period.

The current DGGT Chair, Prof. Moormann, particularly emphasized Prof. Ziegler’s role in strengthening international ties with sister and umbrella organizations. In recognition of his contributions within the IGS, he also presented Prof. Ziegler with the IGS Chapter Service Award.
