Lecture by Professor Aulbach at the 19th Geotechnics Day in Munich

Themed "Interaction of Research and Practice in Geotechnics", the 19th Geotechnics Day took place in Munich on March 24, 2023. The conference was organized by the Chair and Testing Office for Foundation Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling Centre of Geotechnics at the Technical University of Munich under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roberto Cudmani.

In the first afternoon-session Professor Aulbach reported on the experience gained in obtaining approval in individual cases for composite earth structures. The effort as well as the possible additionally required measurement and corrosion protection concepts for obtaining a ZiE were presented on the basis of specific projects of the ZAI. The presentation also covered the standards and guidelines to be taken into account for such a construction and the calculations and verifications required for the design.
