Presentations by Prof. Aulbach & Prof. Ziegler
at the Technical Section Days

On 7 and 8 October 2025, the specialist section days of the German Geotechnical Society (DGGT) were held in Würzburg. The specialist sections „Soil Mechanics“, „Rock Mechanics“, „Engineering Geology“, „Plastics in Geotechnics“ and „Environmental Geotechnics“ all took part in the event.

ZAI was represented with three contributions at the accompanying information and lecture conference.

Prof. Aulbach opened ZAI’s contributions at the Rock Mechanics and Tunnel Construction Symposium, where he presented the „Renovation of the drainage system at Schloßberg“ – a challenging civil engineering project in a geologically and historically sensitive ground conditions”.

On the second day, Prof. Ziegler provided an „Overview of the new regulations of Eurocode 7“ as part of FS-KGEO 2025. Prof. Ziegler also participated as co-author n the contribution „Determination of characteristic values according to Annex A of EN 1997-1: Methods and application with consideration of supplementary guidelines“ presented at the Soil Mechanics Section meeting.
