ZAI at the 21st ICSMGE: Exploring the potential of energy sheet pile walls

At the 21st International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering ZAI Ziegler und Aulbach Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH was represented with a contribution in the session MO-01 Energy Geotechnics.

On Monday, 15 June, Dr.-Ing. Koppmann presented the paper “Energy sheet pile walls for geothermal and aquathermal energy – project overview and evaluation of potential”, prepared together with Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ziegler and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Aulbach.The presentation focused on the concept of energy sheet pile walls and their potential use for geothermal and aquathermal energy applications. Selected project examples highlighted the potential of energy sheet pile walls for renewable energy supply and the heating transition.

Beyond the technical programme, the conference also offered a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues from research and practice and to engage in professional exchange on current topics in geotechnical engineering.
