ZAI at the Geotechnics Forum at
RWTH Aachen University

At the Geotechnics Forum at RWTH Aachen University on 29 January, organised by the Chair of Geotechnical Engineering headed by Prof. Raul Fuentes, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Aulbach of ZAI GmbH was invited as a speaker together with Dipl.-Ing. Timo Westermann of PORR Spezialtiefbau GmbH.

In their presentation entitled “Use of Jet Grouting Piles as an Alternative Anchorage System”, they used the Brunsbüttel lock chamber project and further project examples to illustrate the method, its execution, and the associated geotechnical and construction-process challenges.

The presentation combined both design and execution perspectives and clearly demonstrated how complex boundary conditions can be addressed in practice.

The Geotechnics Forum is a valuable platform, especially for students, to experience practice-oriented projects, exchange ideas with experts, and gain insights into possible professional fields.
