From 25 to 27 November, the STUVA Conference of the Studiengesellschaft für Tunnel und Verkehrsanlagen e.V. took place in Hamburg. With a total attendance of around 4,400 participants, the event once again reached record figures.
Within the conference session “Sustainability and CO₂ Reduction in Tunnel Construction”, ZAI was represented by a presentation given by Prof. Ziegler and co-authored by Dr. Koppmann. Under the title “The Use of Geothermal Energy as a Contribution to Sustainability: An Overview of Options for the Exploitation of Geo- and Aquathermal Energy in Underground Structures”, Prof. Ziegler presented various approaches for the exploitation and utilisation of geo- and aquathermal energy in underground construction and demonstrated their successful application using practical examples.
The well-attended presentation gives reason to hope that these versatile systems will be considered in future projects, thereby making a sustainable contribution to the energy and heat transition.
The ZAI team would like to thank all participants for the interesting discussions following the presentation.
