Change of personnel at the RWTH Aachen University and the FHWS in Würzburg

October 2020

At the beginning of the winter semester 2020, there will be personnel changes at both the RWTH Aachen University and the FHWS in Würzburg.

After more than 20 years of successful management of the Chair of Geotechnical Engineering and the Institute for Foundation Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Rock Mechanics and Waterways Construction at RTWH Aachen University, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Ziegler will retire at the end of September 2020 as planned. Despite the fact that his active work at the University of Aachen will end, Prof. Ziegler will continue to work at ZAI with full commitment.

Simultaneously there will be a change in the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Aulbach has accepted the call to be the successor of Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Nimmesgern. In the winter semester 2020, he will take over the entire field of geotechnics at the FHWS and will also lecture in parts of the field of building operations.
