LANUV technical reports on the calculation and prediction of soil movements in the Rhenish lignite mining area
Already in the middle of the year, the technical report "Calculation and Prognosis of Soil Movements with Sensitivity Analysis in the Rhenish Lignite Region", which was prepared on behalf of the Landesamt für Natur, Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz (LANUV), was published by the LANUV. This report presents the soil movements predicted with the help of a model developed by ZAI, which result from the large-area groundwater lowering and the subsequent increase in the surface mining area up to the year 2200.
Within the subsequent project “Comparison of Methods for Soil Movement Predictions”, ZAI also compared alternative calculation methods to the groundwater level change-related soil movement prediction and investigated further possible influencing factors. The corresponding report has now been published by LANUV in November 2019.
