TRANSOILCOLD 2019

Keynote Lecture at the conference TRANSOILCOLD (Transportation Soil Engineering in Cold Regions) in St. Petersburg from May 20 – 23

The event focuses on building in cold regions and the associated technical challenges. Special aspects such as frost-thaw resistance or permafrost degradation have to be taken into account while planning infrastructure projects. This year, artificial ground freezing was also discussed. For this reason, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Ziegler gave a keynote lecture entitled "Application of the artificial freezing method in geotechnical and tunnel applications".
